The President of the Congress party, Mallikarjun Kharge, expressed his sorrow on Saturday over the passing of senior party leader Rameshwar Dudi from Rajasthan, calling it an irreplaceable loss for the party.
Former party president Rahul Gandhi also shared his condolences, stating that Dudi's fight for the rights of farmers and marginalized communities will always be remembered. Dudi, who served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, passed away at the age of 62 in Bikaner after a prolonged illness.
After suffering a stroke in August 2023, Dudi had been in a coma for over two years. Kharge took to social media to express his grief, stating, 'The news of the demise of senior Congress leader, former Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, and ex-MP Rameshwar Dudi is extremely saddening. This is an irreplaceable loss for the Congress party.' He emphasized that Dudi was a grassroots leader who dedicated his entire life to the welfare of farmers and the public.
In his message, Kharge extended his heartfelt condolences to Dudi's family and supporters during this difficult time. Rahul Gandhi also posted on social media, expressing deep sorrow upon hearing about Dudi's passing. He highlighted that throughout his various roles, Dudi prioritized public service and remained closely connected with the people. 'His struggle for the rights of farmers and the underprivileged will always be remembered,' he added, offering his sympathies to Dudi's family and supporters in this challenging period.
